SENIORS’ VILAMOURA TRIP 2017
A group of 16 Senior golfers from Newburgh, including four guests, enjoyed a seven day golfing holiday in the Algarve, based at the Vila Gale Marina Hotel in Vilamoura from 23 to 30 March.
They played on five courses in weather which varied from a play- stopping thunderstorm to warm sunshine, mostly the latter. The courses were Millennium, Vila Sol, North and South Quinta do Lago and Laranjal.
The week’s competitions were devised and managed by George Annand, providing a clear Stableford aggregate winner in Peter Scott and a fourball Stableford winner in Dave Philip who emerged victorious in each match despite all of his partners!

NEWBURGH SENIORS’ OUTING TO INVERALLOCHY ON MONDAY 5 SEPTEMBER 2016
29 players took part in our first Autumn outing on a very windy day in Inverallochy.
The only two-man team – Alan Wallace and Kenny Lyon – came out top with scores of 33 and 32 respectively.
The individual Prizewinner was Gordon Chalmers whose 33 points bettered Alan on countback.
The strong wind prevented anyone from winning the Nearest the Pin prizes on 3 of 6 par three holes.
